Mindfulness & MBSR
Practical Support for Stress, Resilience, and Everyday Life
Mindfulness is the practice of learning to meet our experience with greater awareness, steadiness, and care.
Through guided meditation, body awareness, gentle movement, and reflection, mindfulness can help us recognize habitual patterns, respond more intentionally to stress, and develop a different relationship with difficult thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations.
Tula Yoga Therapy offers mindfulness instruction and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction programs for individuals, groups, and organizations in Chicago.
What Is Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction?
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, commonly known as MBSR, is a structured eight-week educational program that teaches practical mindfulness skills for working with stress and the challenges of daily life.
The program includes:
Guided mindfulness meditation
Body-scan practice
Gentle, accessible mindful movement
Group discussion and reflection
Home practice between sessions
A daylong period of guided practice
MBSR is not about eliminating stress or forcing the mind to become quiet. It offers a systematic way to strengthen awareness, recognize automatic reactions, and explore more skillful ways of responding.
No previous meditation or yoga experience is required.
