Individual Yoga Therapy
Personalized Support for Your Health and Well-Being
Yoga therapy offers an individualized approach to movement, breathing, mindfulness, and self-awareness.
Rather than asking you to fit yourself into a standard yoga practice, we begin with your needs, goals, health history, abilities, and daily life. Together, we explore practices that feel accessible, realistic, and meaningful for you.
No previous yoga experience or particular level of flexibility is required.
Ways to Work Together
Private Yoga Therapy
Private sessions provide focused, one-to-one support based on your needs and goals.
People may seek yoga therapy while navigating persistent pain, stress, injury, changes in mobility, neurological conditions, recovery, healthy aging, caregiver strain, or a significant life transition.
Sessions are available at Tula Yoga Studio in Logan Square and remotely when appropriate.
In-Home Yoga Therapy
Home-based sessions are available for people who may find traveling difficult because of health concerns, mobility changes, recovery, aging, or care-giving circumstances.
Practices can be adapted to the home environment and may incorporate a chair, bed, wall, walker, or other available support. A family member or caregiver may participate when appropriate and with your permission.
Mindfulness and MBSR
Mindfulness services include private instruction, introductory programs, and the structured eight-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction course.
These practices offer practical ways to work with stress, uncertainty, reactivity, and the challenges of everyday life.
What Can Yoga Therapy Support?
People come to yoga therapy for many different reasons, including:
Stress, anxiety, or overwhelm

Injury or recovery from illness or surgery
Changes in balance, mobility, or energy
Neurological conditions
Healthy aging
Caregiver stress
Reconnecting with the body after a difficult experience

Navigating a major life transition
Yoga therapy is intended to complement, not replace, appropriate medical care, psychotherapy, physical therapy, or other licensed healthcare services.
“Maile has a grounded, welcoming presence. Her teaching is gentle and thoughtful, creating space for safe exploration of movement, breath, and inner awareness. For anyone in Chicago who is curious about yoga therapy or somatic yoga, I highly recommend scheduling a private yoga therapy session with Maile.”
